Book Review: Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton

Hello everyone. Today I finished Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton. Here is the review and I hope you enjoy:

++++

Plot: First there are nightmares. Every night Ellie is haunted by terrifying dreams of monstrous creatures that are hunting her, killing her. Then come the memories. When Ellie meets Will, she feels on the verge of remembering something just beyond her grasp. His attention is intense and romantic, and Ellie feels like her soul has known him for centuries. On her seventeenth birthday, on a dark street at midnight, Will awakens Ellie's power, and she knows that she can fight the creatures that stalk her in the grim darkness. Only Will holds the key to Ellie's memories, whole lifetimes of them, and when she looks at him, she can no longer pretend anything was just a dream. Now she must hunt. Ellie has power that no one can match, and her role is to hunt and kill the reapers that prey on human souls. But in order to survive the dangerous and ancient battle of the angels and the Fallen, she must also hunt for the secrets of her past lives and truths that may be too frightening to remember.

Review: Blood, love, and a lot of fighting. Ellie thought she was a normal girl, but deep down she was a reincarnation of ancient warrior, but she doesn't truly know who she is or why she was created. All Ellie wanted was to be a normal girl with normal problems like dating boys, not getting ice cream on your outfit, and trying to find something cute to wear to school the next day, but that all changes when she meets Will. Gorgeous, green eyed, brown hair Will. Will has a dark mystery about himself and soon Ellie finds out Will is her Guardian. Sworn to protect her from the reapers that are in her nightmares. Now Ellie has to kill these dark creatures before they kill her and take her soul away. Ellie is a uniquie character, at times she seems human and very girlish like and then a minute later she is this fighting machine. Through the whole book I had no idea what she was and why she was there, until the end. She annoyed me at times, but when she was fighting I enjoyed reading about her. Will was a character I loved learning more about. His background was interesting and mysterious. There were other characters like Lauren, who is a phycic, Nathaniel, who was Will's best friend, and also Cadan, who was one of my favorite characters but didn't show up in the story as much as the others. There were also the reapers like Bastian, Ivar, Geir, and Ragnuk, which all I enjoyed learning about who they were and what part they had in Ellie's life throughtout the book. The writing style blew me away when she showed the flashbacks of Ellie's past lifes. I give this book a 4.5/5.
