Book Review: Torment by Lauren Kate

Hello! Today I finished reading Torment by Lauren Kate, which is the second book in the Fallen series. If you haven't read the first book Fallen I would not continue reading this review. Here is the review:

~~~~~~~~
Plot:  Hell on earth.
That’s what it’s like for Luce to be apart from her fallen angel boyfriend, Daniel.
It took them an eternity to find one another, but now he has told her he must go away. Just long enough to hunt down the Outcasts—immortals who want to kill Luce. Daniel hides Luce at Shoreline, a school on the rocky California coast with unusually gifted students: Nephilim, the offspring of fallen angels and humans.
At Shoreline, Luce learns what the Shadows are, and how she can use them as windows to her previous lives. Yet the more Luce learns, the more she suspects that Daniel hasn’t told her everything. He’s hiding something—something dangerous.
What if Daniel’s version of the past isn’t actually true? What if Luce is really meant to be with someone else?
The second novel in the addictive FALLEN series . . . where love never dies.
Review: I enjoyed Torment, but it reminded me way to much of the first book. Just like in the first book Luce is at a new school, with new classmates, same problems with boys, and a bang at the end of the story. There is a difference this year that she isn't as afraid as the shadows as she was in the first book, but the aspect of it didn't change. I was happy to learn more of Luce and Daniel's past with one another and also to meet new characters like Miles and Shelby. Miles was a extremely caring and sweet boy to everyone, it seemed like he would do anything for Luce. Shelby was mean sometimes, but deep down she did care for Luce and everyone else. I also enjoyed the older characters like Arriane, Cam, Daniel, Molly, and many more joining the second book. I give this book a 4/5.
