Book Review: Radiance by Alyson Noel

Hello! Today I finished Radiance by Alyson Noel, which is the first book in Riley Bloom's series. The next book in the series is called Shimmer, which will come out in Spring of 2011. Alyson Noel also has other books and also a series called Immortal series, which is related to Radiance. The fifth book in the Immortal series is called Night Star and will be out in November of 2010. This may be a spoiler for people who haven't read the Immortal series by Alyson Noel. Here is my review on Radiance:

~*~*~
Plot:
Welcome to the Here & Now
Riley Bloom left her sister, Ever, in the world of the living and crossed the bridge into the afterlife-a place called Here, where time is always Now. Riley and her dog, Buttercup, have be reunited with her parents and are just settling into a nice, relaxing death when she's summoned before the Council. They let her on a secret-the afterlife isn't just an eternity of leisure; Riley has to work. She's been assigned a job, Soul Catcher, and a teacher, Bodhi, a curious boy she can't quite figure out.

Riley, Bodhi, and Buttercup return to earth for her first assignment, a Radiant Boy who's been haunting a castle in England for centuries. Many Soul Catchers have tried to get him to cross the bridge and failed. But all of that was before he met Riley. . . .

Review:

It was fun to read Alyson Noel's writing again and the way she makes the drama bring the story to life. The characters were amazing. I loved reading about Riley and how she was going throw her well.... death. The story might have been small, but it sure made it seem amazing. I love the cover and the way the book is made. I don't think I will ever fully understand the Here & Now, but I sure like the adventure of the story. The idea of the story is fun and I am sure any child, between the ages of 10-12 will love this book. I give this book a 4/5. .
