Hello everyone! I hope everyone has had a great time since I was gone and I am really glad to be back. While I was gone I finished Firelight by Sophie Jordan. Here is my review and I hope you enjoy it:
Plot: A hidden truth.
Mortal enemies. Doomed love.
Marked as special at an early age, Jacinda knows her every move is watched. But she longs for freedom to make her own choices. When she breaks the most sacred tenet among her kind, she nearly pays with her life. Until a beautiful stranger saves her. A stranger who was sent to hunt those like her. For Jacinda is a draki—a descendant of dragons whose greatest defense is her secret ability to shift into human form.
Forced to flee into the mortal world with her family, Jacinda struggles to adapt to her new surroundings. The only bright light is Will. Gorgeous, elusive Will who stirs her inner draki to life. Although she is irresistibly drawn to him, Jacinda knows Will's dark secret: He and his family are hunters. She should avoid him at all costs. But her inner draki is slowly slipping away—if it dies she will be left as a human forever. She'll do anything to prevent that. Even if it means getting closer to her most dangerous enemy.
Mythical powers and breathtaking romance ignite in this story of a girl who defies all expectations and whose love crosses an ancient divide.
Review: This book was a lot different from any other book I have ever read, but it did have many problems that didn't make it as great as I wished it could be. I do like the cover with the bright colors and the amazing text, but the characters inside the book that weren't very enjoyable to read. Jacinda was a brave, smart main character, but she couldn't make up her mind which was the biggest problem with her that was hard to read. I did like how she described her past and how it showed in her present. I also liked Will, but at times he didn't seem like he was explaining himself and hiding to many secrets when it was time to tell them all. The characters I disliked the most was Jacinda's family, they seemed stubborn and cruel almost every time they where around Jacinda. I did enjoy the history of the draki and the hunters, and I also enjoyed the writing style that made me not stop reading. I give this book a 3.5/5.
